BAD EDUCATION

Opens January 14, 2005
in Toronto (Varsity Cineplex Odeon) and Vancouver (Tinseltown)!

From celebrated Spanish writer/director Pedro Almodóvar (Talk to Her,
All About My Mother) comes Bad Education (La mala educación), the
opening film at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival. This “film noir” centres on
two kids and a priest whose lives intertwine at a religious school in the early
’60s. The three characters meet twice again, at the end of the ’70s and in the
’80s. As usual, Almodóvar peppers his film with pop cultures references – with
nods to classic films like Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Double Indemnity – and,
of course, transvestites galore. Starring are hot Latins Gael García Bernal
(The Motorcycle Diaries, Y tu mamá también,) and Fele Martínez.

The film is in Spanish with English subtitles.

Bad Education is being released in Canada by Mongrel Media.
